An election has been called for December 3rd to replace the controversial Conservative councillor for Dane Valley who has been spending much of his time working and living in Panama.
Popular local campaigner Bill Furness is to fight the forthcoming by-election for the Liberal Democrats and looks set to take the seat.
Bill has already had massive success in holding Conservative run Thanet District and Kent County Councils to account by making them clean the streets and fix the roads and pavements.
Bill says: "I will ensure that Dane Valley is properly represented, for too long local people have had to put up with one of their councillors not representing them and not turning up to meetings whilst he's been in Panama"
Conservative Cllr Broadhurst has the lowest attendance record of any Thanet Councillor
Bill is a retired Company Director and has 11 years previous experience as a District Councillor and 4 as a Town Councillor.
